Rosary guide
Begin with the Sign of the Cross, Apostles' Creed, Our Father, three Hail Marys, and Glory Be. For each decade, announce the mystery, pray one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and one Glory Be.
Traditional mystery schedule: Joyful (Monday, Saturday); Sorrowful (Tuesday, Friday); Glorious (Wednesday, Sunday); Luminous (Thursday).
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Act of Contrition (simple prayer)
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. Help me turn away from sin, repair the harm I have done, and follow Jesus more faithfully. Amen.
This is an original short prayer, not a standard liturgical formula.
Examination of conscience
- Have I loved God and made time for prayer?
- Have I treated others with dignity and patience?
- Have I been truthful and just?
- Have I neglected someone who needed my help?
- What should I repent of and make right?

Explore the essentials of Catholic belief and life.
What Catholics believe
Catholics profess faith in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is true God and true man, who died and rose for our salvation. The Church receives Scripture and Sacred Tradition and is called to live in faith, hope, and charity.
The seven sacraments
Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance (Reconciliation), Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony.
What is the Mass?
The Mass is the Church's central act of worship, including the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Catholics believe Christ is truly present in the Eucharist.
How should I pray?
Begin simply: speak honestly to God, read Scripture, give thanks, ask forgiveness, and remain in silence. Personal prayer deepens our participation in the sacraments and service to others.
Who are the saints?
Saints are witnesses to God's grace. Catholics honor them and ask their intercession, while worship belongs to God alone.
